It is a flat string made of cotton that has been waxed. Waxed laces were widely used in work and outdoor boots until about the 1950s, as they increased durability and prevented loosening. It is also suitable for attaching to boots with thin round strings (Taslan boot lace) to change the image.

With a length of 48 inches (about 120 cm), this laces fit boots with a eyelet count of about 7.
